Infants to Age 5
St. Paul’s provides a safe, caring place for young children while their parents or guardians attend church services. Our children, ages infant to 5, are well cared for in our church nursery, located downstairs. Caregivers are trained and certified through a national program, Safeguarding God’s Children, and two caregivers are always present in each classroom. Children can play with age-appropriate toys, engage in arts and crafts, read books, or have a little dramatic play. Nursery care is provided from 9:15-11:30am on Sunday mornings to enable parents to attend Adult Education classes and attend the church service. The nursery attendants are Amanda Dorsch and Rosemary Johnson.
All potty-trained 3-year-olds through kindergartners are invited to attend Sunday School in our preschool/kindergarten room located downstairs. This class is also known as Extended Session and runs from 10:30 to the end of the service. Parents may come and get their children for communion and return them to the classroom or keep them in the service. The teachers for this class are Alison Buckley and Margie Grimsley. Children must be potty-trained to attend this class.
Elementary (Grades 1-5)
All children in first through fifth grades are invited to attend Sunday School! Our classes are downstairs under our worship space. Class begins at 10:30 and ends when the children are brought up into the church to join their families for the exchange of the Peace and for Communion — usually about 11:15. The curriculum for this age group is “Living the Good News”, a lectionary-based program that focuses on common themes for the whole parish, young and old. This class will be taught using a rotation model where an adult parishioner commits to teach for three weeks. A second adult helper is always present in the classroom. There is no Sunday School every third Sunday of each month for Family Sunday.
Please note St. Paul’s Sunday School is peanut/tree nut free.
